A 22-year-old youth died in a road accident after his motorcycle lost control and crashed into an auto-rickshaw near Ravi Nagar under Ambazari police station limits on Friday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Harsh Subhash Vishwakarma (22), a resident of Seminary Hills, Gupta Chowk area in Ambazari, Nagpur.
According to police, the accident occurred around 3:30 pm on March 6 near Agrasen Bhavan auto stand. Vishwakarma was riding his Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle (MH-31-FV-6715) when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with a parked auto-rickshaw at the stand.
The impact left him seriously injured and unconscious.
Local residents immediately rushed him to Sengupta Hospital, from where he was later shifted to Mayo Hospital for further treatment. However, doctors declared him dead during treatment, police said.
Based on a complaint lodged by auto driver Tanaji Dayaram Wanare (38), a resident of Jaynagar, Pandhrabodi in Ambazari, Assistant Sub-Inspector Meena Barange of Ambazari Police Station registered a case of accidental death.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
