The Nagpur district administration has decided not to enforce the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) in the city, citing sufficient availability of essential commodities and fuel supplies.
Municipal Commissioner and acting District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar said that petrol, diesel, CNG and LPG stocks in the district are adequate. Oil companies BPCL, HPCL and IOC have also assured uninterrupted and regular supply.
Earlier this month, the price of a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder was increased by ?60, taking it to ?964.50, while the commercial cylinder now costs ?1,935.
Authorities have urged residents not to panic or crowd petrol pumps, assuring that fuel stocks are sufficient and supply will remain smooth.
