The South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), operating under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will organise a two-day ‘Kala Mahotsav’ on March 13 and 14 at its premises from 6.30 pm onwards.
Nagpur Mayor Neeta Thakre has been invited to inaugurate the festival. The event will feature performances by renowned artists including Padma Shri awardee Dr Bharti Bandhu and noted actor Dr Nitish Bharadwaj.
On March 13, Dr Bharti Bandhu, a celebrated singer from Chhattisgarh, will present ‘Kabir Gayan’, known for promoting Sufi, Kabir and folk music traditions. The second presentation of the evening will be the play ‘Bharat Milap’, composed in the Bundeli language. The drama features emerging rural artists and has been produced under the guidance of Lokendra Trivedi and Nisha Trivedi.
On March 14, Dr Nitish Bharadwaj will present the play ‘Chakravyuha’, written and directed by Atul Satya Kaushik.
Entry to the programme will be free for the public. Dr Astha Karlekar, Director of SCZCC, has appealed to theatre and music enthusiasts to attend the festival in large numbers.
