A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife after suspecting her fidelity in the Mohannagar area under Sadar police station limits on Tuesday afternoon.
The accused, Aditya Ukey (25), reportedly attacked his wife, Muskan (19), during a domestic dispute. She sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Police said the couple had an arranged marriage, but the accused had developed doubts about his wife’s character over time, leading to frequent quarrels. Just four months ago, the couple had welcomed a baby girl.
On the day of the incident, Muskan was using her mobile phone when Ukey allegedly became suspicious and confronted her. The argument soon escalated, and in a fit of rage, he allegedly stabbed her with a kitchen knife. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, Sadar police registered a case and swiftly arrested the accused. Further investigation is underway.
