At least 14 trains passing through Gondia railway station will remain cancelled on various dates in April due to infrastructure work, likely causing inconvenience to passengers.
The South East Central Railway, Nagpur Division, has announced a traffic block from April 5 to 24 to dismantle the washable apron on platform number 3 and convert it into a ballasted track. As a result, several long-distance and passenger trains will be cancelled on specific dates.
Among them, the Shalimar–LTT Express will remain cancelled from April 4 to 24, while the LTT–Shalimar Express will not run from April 6 to 26. The Korba–Amritsar Express will be cancelled from April 5 to 25, and the Amritsar–Bilaspur Express from April 7 to 27.
The Nizamuddin–Raigarh Express will remain cancelled on multiple dates between April 2 and 22, and the Raigarh–Nizamuddin Express between April 4 and 24. Similarly, the Visakhapatnam–Nizamuddin Express and its return service will remain cancelled on multiple dates between April 5 and 25.
In addition, MEMU and DEMU passenger services on routes such as Ballarshah–Gondia and Gondia–Katangi will remain suspended from April 5 to 25.
Several trains will also run on curtailed routes during this period. Passenger trains operating between Gondia, Ballarshah, Chanda Fort and Wadsa will run only up to Hiradhamali from April 5 to 25. The Barauni–Gondia Express will operate only up to Durg from April 4 to 25, while the Gondia–Barauni Express will run up to Durg from April 5 to 26.
Railway authorities have advised passengers to check schedules in advance, as these cancellations and partial terminations are expected to disrupt travel plans.
