The Motor Vehicles Court imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on a parent for allowing his minor son to drive, suspended the vehicle’s registration for one year, and ruled that the boy will not be eligible for a driving licence until he turns 25.
The Nagpur Police had caught the 16-year-old riding a two-wheeler at Chandrashekhar Azad Chowk on March 13. A case was subsequently registered against his father, a 52-year-old resident of Hasanbag Chowk.
The action was carried out by the Lakadganj division team under the guidance of DCP (Traffic) Lohit Matani. The team included police inspector Sanjay Khandade, head constable Kirti Raju Bagdi, Shankar Misal, and officer Amol Meshram. The court hearing was held on Thursday.
