Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar on Tuesday visited Nagpur to pay his respects to late veteran leader Datta Meghe and offered condolences to his family. Pawar, who had been unwell for the past one and a half months, stepped out of his residence for the first time to attend the condolence visit.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawar recalled the deep bond he shared with Meghe and the support he received in Nagpur. He said that people from Wardha and Nagpur had always stood firmly with Meghe, who dedicated his life to addressing social issues and working for justice. Pawar highlighted Meghe’s significant contribution to the field of education through the establishment of institutions, colleges, and schools, which opened opportunities for countless students.
Describing him as a leader who always prioritized people and never turned anyone away, Pawar said Datta Meghe’s legacy would continue to inspire generations. “Today he is no longer with us, but his work will always be remembered,” Pawar said, offering his heartfelt tribute on behalf of his family and the party.
