Alignment revised to 856.76 km for Samruddhi linkage; Satara included
The Maharashtra government has approved a revised alignment for the proposed Nagpur–Goa access-controlled expressway, also known as the Maharashtra Shaktipeeth Expressway, a move expected to significantly cut travel time between the two destinations. With the new plan, the corridor will now be connected to the Samruddhi Expressway.
According to a government resolution issued by the Public Works Department on Wednesday, the updated alignment of the high-speed corridor—from Pavnar in Wardha district to Patradevi in Sindhudurg district—has been finalised after evaluating multiple alternative routes.
The project, initially planned to span around 802.59 km, has undergone changes across several districts following consultations with public representatives and technical assessments by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). Under the revised plan, the corridor will now run from the Digras interchange on the Samruddhi Expressway near Wardha district to Banda in Sawantwadi taluka of Sindhudurg district, increasing its total length to approximately 856.76 km.
