Bringing much-needed clarity, Nagpur University (NU) has announced the schedule for its long-delayed summer examinations in a revised academic calendar released on April 1.
The announcement comes after concerns were raised over the lack of a clear exam timeline. As per the updated schedule, summer examinations will commence from April 15, with different start dates for various categories of students. Failure students of odd semesters and those under the annual pattern will begin exams from April 15, while regular and failure students of even semesters will start from May 2.
The university has also detailed the examination form submission process. Applications opened on March 23 for all categories, including regular even semester students, old ex-students, and those under the annual pattern. The last date for submission is April 4 for old ex-students and annual pattern candidates, and April 10 for regular even semester students. Students awaiting winter 2025 results can submit their forms within seven days of the declaration of results.
However, despite the announcement, faculty members from affiliated colleges have raised concerns. They noted that although exams for odd semesters are scheduled from April 15, the university has yet to release a detailed timetable or declare a majority of the winter exam results.
“Without results, students won’t know which subjects they need to apply for,” a senior faculty member said, pointing to the practical challenges faced by students.
According to the revised calendar, the second term will conclude on April 30, followed by the summer vacation from May 1 to June 15.
