In a major development, two minority-run schools in Nagpur have been found operating without official approval, leading to the registration of a case following an inquiry by the district administration. The issue came to light during an investigation by the Primary Education Department of Zilla Parishad Nagpur.
The schools identified are Gausiya Secondary School and Zubeda Secondary School, located in the Rahmat Nagar area of Wanjra. Both are reportedly managed by a minority education trust based in Bhandara district. Officials said Gausiya Secondary School alone had admitted around 450 students, of whom 179 are currently attending classes.
The probe uncovered serious irregularities, including the issuance of fake transfer certificates and forged marksheets to students. Authorities warned that such fraudulent documents could have serious implications for students’ academic records and future opportunities.
The case has further widened with allegations that substantial amounts of money were collected from teachers on the promise of employment in these schools. The details have been submitted to the Maharashtra State Minority Commission, pointing to a possible recruitment scam linked to the institutions.
Taking note of the matter, Minority Commission Chairman Pyare Khan has ordered strict action against those responsible. Officials are now likely to expand the investigation to determine the full scope of the alleged fraud.
The incident has raised concerns over regulatory oversight of minority educational institutions and the effectiveness of verification systems for student admissions and teacher recruitment. Authorities have assured that a detailed investigation is underway and stringent action will be taken against those found guilty.
