Platform No. 2 at Nagpur railway station will remain closed for 52 days, from April 8 to May 29, to facilitate foundation work for a new concourse under the station upgradation project being executed by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA).
According to an official communication from Central Railway, the work will be carried out in coordination with a planned non-interlocking block at Gondia station.
While no trains will be cancelled, several services are expected to be affected due to reduced platform availability. One train will be short-terminated and another will originate from Amla station instead of Nagpur. In addition, six trains will be diverted to ease congestion at the station.
Railway officials said at least six trains are likely to be regulated, with delays ranging from 10 minutes to over two hours.
Meanwhile, additional overhead equipment (OHE) and traffic blocks will also be carried out on Platform No. 3 for a few days during the project period. Authorities, however, said these are unlikely to significantly disrupt train operations.
