The Nagpur Municipal Corporation is developing a GIS-based integrated digital platform that will bring all civic assets across the city under a single digital interface, enabling one-click access to work history, expenditure, and maintenance data.
The platform will cover roads, drains, electric poles, playgrounds, swimming pools, water supply lines, stormwater and counter-gutter lines, schools, offices, NMC properties, CCTV installations, cemeteries, ghats, and parking spots, among others. All departmental data will be available in a layer-based format, allowing senior officials to track any asset’s complete record in real time. Citizens will also eventually be able to access city-level data through the platform.
The project is scheduled to be presented before the Standing Committee. Following the municipal commissioner’s approval, NMC will begin collecting layer-wise data from all departments to populate the platform.
“All information available at the department level across NMC will be mapped on this GIS-based platform. It will enable one-click access to the complete history of any work and provide detailed information on work carried out in any department,” said Milind Meshram, Deputy Commissioner, IT Department, NMC
