On his 31st birthday, Anant Ambani, the executive director of Reliance Industries Limited, initiated a wave of philanthropic activities that touched nearly 50 lakh lives. His commitment to enhancing communities is reflected in the launch of 31 unique charitable projects, focusing on education, healthcare, and social welfare.

The initiatives include significant infrastructural developments at key religious sites in Gujarat. For instance, a new multi-storey Yatri Bhavan (pilgrim guesthouse) will be built in Dwarka to accommodate visitors. Additionally, plans are underway to install escalators at the Dwarka Shardapeeth for senior citizens and those with disabilities, expected to benefit around 75,000 pilgrims annually.
At Ambaji Temple, an entire floor of a Yatri Bhavan will feature 17 rooms, and food service for up to 26 lakh devotees is set for the coming year. A similar program is planned at Somnath Temple. Furthermore, ongoing support through the Anna Seva initiative at Nathdwara serves approximately 2.25 lakh devotees each year.

A strong emphasis on healthcare accompanies these projects. The Guru Govind Singh Hospital in Jamnagar will provide free meals to around 2.26 lakh patients, while Project Drishti has already offered eye care services to over 1.50 lakh people. A multi-speciality health camp is scheduled for April 19.
The educational sector also sees enhancements: new school buildings are proposed in Sikka and Dera Chhikari villages alongside tracksuits for about 12,000 government primary students. Moreover, a community kitchen established by Akshaya Patra Foundation will serve nearly 22,000 students daily.
Anant’s contributions extend beyond urban centers. Financial support for tribal student hostels and community halls fosters rural development across multiple regions including Jamnagar and Junagadh.
This year’s celebrations aren’t just about charity; they’re marked by cultural events too—a ten-day festival including Lok Dayros across various locations like Jogvad and Paswada.
