Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said the ongoing probe into the Nashik case involving Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) points to “extremely serious” allegations of sexual harassment and religious coercion, suggesting the acts were part of a structured and organised “module.”Addressing the media during his visit to Kolkata for election campaigning, the Chief Minister said preliminary findings indicate the incidents were not isolated but systematically carried out. He commended TCS for its proactive approach, noting that the company has supported the investigation instead of shielding the accused.Fadnavis added that the investigation is underway and central agencies have been alerted, with assistance to be sought if necessary.
Multiple FIRs have been registered by female employees, alleging sexual harassment, stalking, and mental harassment between 2022 and March 2026. He stressed that the state government is treating the case with utmost seriousness and ensuring strict action. He further said that TCS leadership has strongly condemned the actions of the accused and is fully cooperating with law enforcement to ensure accountability, setting an important precedent for corporate responsibility.
According to the Chief Minister, Nashik police are examining CCTV footage and digital evidence to determine whether more individuals were involved in the alleged network. Security measures have also been tightened across key IT hubs in the region to safeguard employees.
Investigators have identified a pattern of alleged religious coercion, including claims that employees were pressured into consuming certain foods and participating in religious practices against their beliefs. So far, several individuals, including senior staff and an HR official accused of ignoring complaints, have been arrested.
