The district administration has taken multiple steps to ensure smooth distribution of domestic LPG cylinders across the district. District Collector Kumar Ashirwad has directed that customers who have not yet completed their e-KYC can avail the facility free of cost at all Setu Suvidha Kendras in the district.
During a joint review meeting with gas agencies and distribution companies, the Collector emphasized that customers who have registered through official mobile apps must receive home delivery of cylinders within the stipulated time. Officials, including District Supply Officer Vinod Kale and representatives of major gas companies, were present at the meeting. As per the revised norms, LPG cylinders are being delivered only after OTP verification on the registered mobile number.
However, delays were observed in distribution due to pending e-KYC of several consumers. To address this issue, the administration has made free e-KYC services available at all Setu centres across Nagpur district.
In a significant move, the administration has also increased the daily supply of 5 kg LPG cylinders meant for migrant workers. The distribution has been doubled compared to the average supply as of March 3, and officials have been instructed to ensure that these cylinders are strictly provided to migrant labourers.
Additionally, authorities have noted delays in LPG distribution in certain areas due to rising demand, technical issues, and crowding at distribution points. To tackle this, gas companies have been instructed to increase buffer stock and ensure 90% Delivery Against Cash (DAC). Cash-and-carry counters are also being introduced to facilitate faster and transparent distribution of cylinders to consumers.
