More than 1,000 residents of the CIDCO area in Butibori, who have begun receiving piped natural gas (PNG) connections, are set to become the district’s first domestic consumers of the much-awaited fuel supply system.
A senior official from HCG Nagpur Private Limited, the company responsible for laying the network, said the pipeline in the area has recently been charged. “We have also started providing connections to residents who have applied,” the official added. The company, which has already initiated PNG supply in a residential flat scheme, is expected to extend connections to over 1,000 households in the locality.
With the pipeline work in Butibori now complete, some industrial consumers in the area have already started using PNG.
The official further stated that similar pipeline work is underway in MIHAN and nearby areas. In addition, the network development in Hingna MIDC is progressing and is likely to be completed by June 30, 2026, enabling consumers to access an uninterrupted fuel supply.
Residents in southern parts of the city, including Chinchbhawan, Hingna and MIHAN, are expected to receive piped CNG connections within the next three to four months. Around 25,000 consumers are likely to be connected in the coming phase.
The network will be expanded gradually in the following months, eventually reaching Sitabuldi and covering the entire city.
