Vidarbha continued to reel under intense heatwave conditions on Saturday, with Akola and Amravati emerging as the hottest cities in the region, both recording a scorching 45.6 degrees Celsius. Wardha closely followed at 45.5 degrees Celsius, underlining the severe heat gripping central India.
Nagpur too remained in the grip of sweltering weather, with the mercury touching 44.2 degrees Celsius, making it one of the hottest major cities in the region. Chandrapur also recorded 44.2 degrees Celsius, while Bhandara touched 44 degrees Celsius. Other districts including Gadchiroli and Gondia recorded 43.6 degrees Celsius, while Yavatmal and Washim logged 43 degrees Celsius.
With temperatures soaring well above normal across Vidarbha, residents continued to battle extreme daytime heat, prompting health advisories and calls for precaution as the region faces prolonged summer intensity.
