Passengers at Nagpur Railway Station have been facing major inconvenience over the past week as many trains continue to arrive late, mainly due to ongoing development work. The problem continued on Saturday, with more than a dozen trains delayed by several hours, causing overcrowding and confusion on platforms.Usually, special trains (with zero-series numbers) face delays, but now regular trains are also affected.
This has led to multiple trains arriving together, leaving passengers stranded and rushing for updates. The worst affected was the Pune summer special (01430), which arrived nearly 15 hours late. Other delayed trains included the Charlapalli summer special (10 hours 31 minutes), Danapur special (9 hours 58 minutes), Porbandar Superfast Express (over 5 hours), and Ahmedabad Superfast Express (over 4 hours). Premium trains like the Pune AC Duronto Express and Azad Hind Express were also delayed, while the Chhattisgarh Express was cancelled.
Due to these delays, heavy crowds gathered at the station, which is already under redevelopment. Passengers complained about lack of proper information and long waiting times.
Authorities say operations may improve once the upgrade work is completed, but for now, commuters continue to face delays and uncertainty at one of central India’s busiest railway stations.
