NMC Standing Committee chairperson Shivani Dani Wakhare and corporator Sheshrao Gotmare on Monday officially took charge as trustees of the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT).
Mayor Neeta Thakre and district collector-cum-NIT in-charge chairman Kumar Ashirwad welcomed the newly appointed trustees during a brief ceremony held at the NIT office.
Speaking on the occasion, Wakhare thanked the party leadership for placing their trust in her and said she would work sincerely to fulfil the responsibility. She highlighted key issues such as the Gond Raja Samadhi, development of Deekshabhoomi, unauthorised layouts and other pending projects as her priorities.
Gotmare also expressed gratitude to the leadership and assured that he would carry out his responsibilities with dedication. He said resolving issues related to unauthorised layouts and other pending matters would be among his main focus areas.
Deputy Mayor Leela Hathibed, Leader of the House Narendra Borkar, former MLAs Anil Sole and Milind Mane, former mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, several committee chairpersons, corporators and a large number of BJP workers were present at the ceremony.
