Government’s Amrut Sanstha scheme for the economically weaker sections of the open category
A free drone operator (pilot) training scheme is being implemented for the youth from economically weaker sections of the open category through AMRUT (Maharashtra Research, Development and Training Institute), an autonomous organization of the Maharashtra Government. Under this scheme, quality training in flying drones will be provided free of cost to the candidates and an official license will also be given after completion of the training.
This training will provide new career and self-employment opportunities in the fields of agriculture, photography, land surveying, aerial photography, videography, crop surveying, government project monitoring, disaster management etc. Amrut is an autonomous organization of the Government of Maharashtra and implements various training programs to make the economically weaker sections of the open category self-reliant. As a part of this, this 10-day residential training course has been organized under the “ Amrut Drone Mission ” . The cost of this training is usually around Rs. 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh; however, it is provided completely free of cost to the targeted sections through Amrut Sanstha. Accommodation and food arrangements will also be made by the organization during the training.
Drone operator training will open up new career paths for the youth in the field of modern technology. The demand for trained drone pilots for crop spraying, crop monitoring and land surveying in the agricultural sector is increasing significantly. Similarly, the use of drones is increasing for inspection of construction, highways, railways, water resources and government development projects. There is also a need for drone operators for aerial filming of wedding ceremonies, films, advertisements and events. Since drones are also being used effectively in disaster management, flood monitoring, forest area survey and security systems, employment and independent business opportunities will be available to the trained youth.
This course covers topics such as safe flight regulations of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), modern drone handling, drone maintenance, live flight training, etc. Candidates who successfully complete the training will also be able to take advantage of the loan interest repayment scheme of Amrut Sanstha to purchase drones and start a business. This training is being provided at eight locations in the state.
