Vidarbha continued to reel under intense heatwave conditions on Saturday, with Brahmapuri emerging as the hottest city in the region at a scorching 47.1°C. Chandrapur recorded 46.2°C, while Gadchiroli touched 46.0°C, indicating severe heat conditions across eastern Vidarbha.
Nagpur city also remained under extreme heat, recording a maximum temperature of 45.0°C, which was 1.8 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature in Nagpur stood at 30.4°C, making nights uncomfortable for residents as well.
Among other major cities, Wardha recorded 45.5°C and Amravati 45.4°C, while Akola and Bhandara touched 44.9°C and 45.0°C respectively. Yavatmal recorded 43.8°C and Washim 43.5°C.
People have been advised to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours, drink plenty of water, and take care as Vidarbha continues to witness extreme heat above 45°C in many districts.
