Tourism activities in the core zones of all tiger reserves across Maharashtra will be suspended 15 days earlier than usual this year.
Accordingly, the core jungle safari at Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) will remain closed from June 15, and tourists will not be allowed entry until September 30. The State Wildlife Department has issued official orders regarding the early closure.
Traditionally, core safari operations are suspended from July 1 every year during the monsoon season. However, authorities have decided to advance the closure this year in view of pre-monsoon preparations, repair and maintenance work on forest roads, and the breeding season of wild animals.
