Vidarbha remained in the grip of scorching temperatures on Friday, intensifying summer conditions across the region. Brahmapuri topped the temperature chart at 45.7°C, while Nagpur sizzled at 45.0°C, making it one of the hottest days of the season so far.
Chandrapur recorded 44.8°C, followed by Gadchiroli at 44.6°C and Bhandara at 44.5°C each, indicating that the heatwave spread uniformly across eastern districts. Wardha also experienced extreme weather at 44.5°C, while Washim touched 44.0°C. The relentless heat forced people to limit outdoor movement, especially during the afternoon hours.
Amravati registered 43.6°C, Akola 43.2°C and Gondia 43.0°C, while Yavatmal recorded 42.6°C. Buldana remained relatively lower at 41.0°C but still experienced intense daytime heat. Doctors have advised residents to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, wear light clothing and maintain hydration as temperatures continue to remain significantly above normal across Vidarbha.
