The second season of the Vidarbha Premier League (VPL) is set to begin on Monday at the VCA Stadium in Jamtha, with free entry for spectators throughout the tournament. The high-profile T20 league will be inaugurated by VCA President Justice Vinay Deshpande (Retd) during a grand opening ceremony scheduled for 6 pm.
The ceremony will feature the unveiling of the VPL 2026 trophy, followed by all six franchise captains signing a pledge board to promote sportsmanship and fair play.The tournament’s opening match will commence at 7.30 pm after the inaugural event.
The women’s competition will begin on June 7 at the VCA Civil Lines Stadium.The women’s final will be played at the Jamtha Stadium on June 14 at 2.30 pm, while the men’s final is scheduled for 7.30 pm the same day.
Free Bus Service for Fans
As part of its public awareness and promotional campaign, the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA), in collaboration with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), has launched an initiative to encourage the use of electric buses and public transport, promote fuel conservation, support sustainable urban mobility, and reduce traffic congestion around the stadium.
To facilitate easy travel for spectators, VCA has arranged a free bus service from Khapri Metro Station to Jamtha Stadium before matches and from the stadium to Sitabuldi after the matches on all match days.
