Under the guidance of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), New Delhi (Ministry of AYUSH), and as part of a series of public awareness programs leading up to the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026, the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Nagpur, successfully organized a “Nature Walk and Run for Yoga” event on 7June2026, at BalUdyan, Seminary Hills, Nagpur.
The primary objective of the event was to raise public awareness regarding yoga, health, and a natural lifestyle, and to inspire people to incorporate regular physical activity and yoga into their daily lives. Officials and staff members of the institute participated in the event with great enthusiasm. Held amidst the natural beauty of Seminary Hills, the event saw approximately 70 participants from the institute taking part in the nature walk and run, thereby conveying a message about the importance of healthy living, environmental conservation, and yoga.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Savita Sharma, Assistant Director In-charge of the institute, stated that yoga is not merely a form of exercise but a holistic lifestyle that fosters physical, mental, and spiritual balance. She has emphasized that this event, organized in the lap of nature, effectively showcases the holistic health concepts of yoga and Ayurveda. The event concluded with a message encouraging the integration of yoga and Ayurveda into daily life to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
This initiative was a significant part of the broader public awareness campaign for International Day of Yoga 2026. As part of International Yoga Day 2026, a “Yoga-Sangam” event is being organized on 21 June 2026, at 6:30 AM at MahavirMaidan, Azamshah Layout, Nandanvan, Nagpur. This event is being held with the participation of all Ayurveda colleges in Nagpur and various organizations active in the fields of Ayurveda and Yoga-such as NIMA, Vyaspeeth, ArogyaBharati, Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan, PulakManchSansthan, and others (collectively known as the ‘Ayurved Alliance’). Members of the general public are cordially invited to attend the “Yoga-Sangam”.
