A video purportedly showing a passenger smoking and allegedly consuming drugs inside a moving private bus has gone viral on social media, triggering concern among commuters and authorities alike.
According to available information, the air-conditioned private bus was travelling from Kota to Nagpur when the incident occurred. A passenger, reportedly dressed in khaki trousers, was first seen lighting and smoking a cigarette inside the bus. He was later allegedly seen consuming a suspected narcotic substance while seated among fellow passengers.
The act was reportedly noticed by another passenger, who recorded the incident on a mobile phone. The video allegedly shows the man snorting the substance inside the bus. After being shared online, the clip spread rapidly across social media platforms on Sunday.
The incident has raised serious safety concerns as the alleged drug use occurred inside a moving bus carrying several passengers. Fortunately, no untoward incident was reported during the journey. After the bus reached Nagpur’s Ganeshpeth area, the passenger who recorded the video informed others about the matter. Some commuters also reportedly lodged complaints with the travel operator. Police officials said they became aware of the incident after the video surfaced online, though no formal complaint had been registered at the time of reporting.
