Nagpur Police Crime Branch Unit-5 has arrested three key accused in connection with the sensational double murder reported under the jurisdiction of Sakkardara Police Station on Wednesday night. The arrests were made within hours of the incident following a swift investigation and technical surveillance.
The deceased have been identified as Aditya alias Sonu Bodwe and Dadu alias Aditya Rahoolkar. The murders took place at around 8:30 pm on June 10, 2026, near Gond Wasti, Chhota Tajbagh, Raghujinagar in the Sakkardara area.
The arrested accused have been identified as Vaibhav alias Dadu Pradeep Rao Dongre (30), a resident of Narsala near PVS College in Dighori; Vedant alias Dabba Ajay Dabir (20), a resident of Raghujinagar; and Abhishek alias Tatya Uttam Raut (26), a resident of New Nandanvan.
According to police, the incident was allegedly triggered by a dispute over the victims being removed from work at a fruit shop. An argument reportedly broke out between the two groups, which later turned violent.
During the altercation, the accused allegedly attacked the victims using bricks, stones, and a sharp-edged knife. Both victims sustained severe injuries and died as a result of the assault.
After the crime, the accused allegedly attempted to flee the city. Acting on technical inputs and intelligence gathered during the investigation, a team from Crime Branch Unit-5 tracked down the suspects and apprehended them from the Gargoti Nala area of Vihirgaon.
Following their arrest, the accused were taken for medical examination and later handed over to Sakkardara Police Station for further legal action. Police said the investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to establish all circumstances surrounding the double murder.
Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Golhe of Crime Branch Unit-5 confirmed the arrests and said further investigation is underway.
