A routine morning turned into a frightening experience for a family in Shankarpur, Beltarodi, after a venomous five-foot cobra was spotted inside their kitchen, triggering panic among household members. The incident occurred around 8 am on Friday when Sharda Santosh was preparing breakfast. She was shocked to find a cobra with its hood raised near a kitchen cabinet.
The sight of the venomous reptile created panic in the house. Children began screaming while family members quickly rushed out of the kitchen and moved to safety. Realising the potential danger, the family contacted the Nagpur Police Control Room, which provided them with the contact details of local snake rescuer Shubham Parale.
Parale reached the residence within minutes and began searching for the reptile. During the rescue operation, the cobra was located hiding beneath a kitchen cabinet. The rescue proved challenging as the agitated snake reportedly attempted to strike twice. However, using caution and experience, the rescuer successfully captured the cobra without causing harm to either the residents or the reptile.
The successful rescue brought relief to the family, which had been anxiously waiting outside the house throughout the operation. After being safely captured, the cobra was relocated and released into its natural habitat in a forested area near Butibori. Wildlife rescuers have once again urged citizens not to panic or attempt to handle snakes themselves, especially during the monsoon season when reptiles frequently enter residential areas in search of shelter, water and prey.
Thanks to the timely intervention of the rescuer, the potentially dangerous situation was brought under control without any injuries, allowing the family to return safely to their home.
