Hundreds of youths, students and citizens from different walks of life participated in a protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Constitution Square in Nagpur on Tuesday, Wearing cockroach masks, carrying placards and raising slogans demanding justice, the protesters highlighted issues related to examination irregularities, the education system and rising unemployment.
The agitation was led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who addressed the gathering and alleged that students across the country were facing injustice due to flaws in the examination and recruitment systems. Protesters demanded accountability and corrective measures from the government on issues affecting students and job seekers.
During the protest, a group of activists associated with Bharat Mata Sanghatana arrived at the venue and raised “Jai Shri Ram” slogans while opposing Dipke. The incident led to a brief commotion at the protest site before police personnel intervened and brought the situation under control.
According to police sources, several activists involved in the slogan-shouting were taken to Sitabuldi Police Station as a preventive measure and were later released after necessary formalities. No major law-and-order issue was reported during the programme.
In view of the large turnout, special traffic arrangements were made in and around Constitution Square to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and maintain public order. The protest concluded peacefully under police supervision.
