To ensure a stronger and uninterrupted power supply during the monsoon season, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) will undertake various technical and preventive maintenance works across Nagpur on Wednesday, June 17. The works include installation of new distribution transformers, RMU charging, trimming of tree branches, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure.
As a result, power supply will remain temporarily suspended for three to four hours during the morning in several parts of the city. MSEDCL has appealed to citizens to cooperate during the shutdown period, stating that the works are essential for improving the reliability and quality of electricity services.
Under the Congress Nagar division, power supply will remain interrupted from 7 am to 11 am in Shivangaon, CRPF Camp, Vitthoba Nagar, Tukdoji Chowk, Gyaki, Hiranwar Layout, Anand Nagar and Gharkul areas. Additionally, from 8 am to 12 noon, electricity supply will remain affected in Saraswati Vihar, Lokhande Nagar, Pathan Layout, Sambhaji Nagar, Bhange Lawn, Bhagashree Layout, Cosmos Town, Dronacharya Nagar, Gorle Layout, Deendayal Nagar, Swawlambi Nagar, Saraswati Layout, Sujata Layout, Kapse Layout, areas behind Padole Chowk, Modern Society, Vidyavihar, Pannase Layout, Pratap Nagar Chowk, Navnirman, Old Khamla, Sindi Colony, Milind Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Railway Colony, Venkatesh Nagar, Kotwal Nagar, Shanti Niketan and Shiv Nagar.
In the Mahal division, power supply will remain suspended from 8 am to 11 am in Manewada Ring Road, Shiv Mandir area, Jai Durga Society, Jayanti Mansion, Payal Pallavi Society, Indira Nagar, Rajabaksha Hanuman Mandir, Jaitala Road, Rambagh, Murti Karkhana, Jayanti Maidan, Parate Flour Mill, Rambagh Water Tank, Nehru Nagar, Om Nagar, Sudampuri, Kabir Nagar, Mire Layout and Sakkardara Chowk areas. In the Civil Lines division, electricity supply will remain shut from 8 am to 12 noon in Borgaon, Patel Nagar, Adivasi Nagar, Dashrath Nagar, Dwivedi Colony, Shamshuddin Layout, Ramdeobaba Hill area, Phago Layout, Rajaram Society, Rose Colony, Ayyappa Nagar, Gandhi Layout, Datta Nagar and Vitthal Rukmini Nagar.
Meanwhile, power supply will remain suspended from 8 am to 11 am in CPWD Quarters, Community Hall, SFS College, Water Pump area, Manavta Nagar and TV Tower Chowk.
Apart from residential areas, maintenance works will also be carried out in the Butibori industrial region, where power supply arrangements will be regulated in phases between 10 am and 5 pm. The Food Park area and K Zone will be affected from 10 am to 5 pm, while B and J Zones will face interruptions from 10 am to 2 pm. Maintenance work in D, C and T Zones will be undertaken from 2 pm to 5 pm. MSEDCL has advised residents and industrial consumers to plan their activities accordingly to avoid inconvenience. The utility has also expressed regret for the temporary disruption and assured that the measures are aimed at ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply during the monsoon season.
