A large-scale programme to mark International Yoga Day will be organised at Yeshwant Stadium on June 21 from 6:30 am to 8:00 am. The event is being jointly hosted by Janardanswami Yogabhyasi Mandal and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), with both organisations celebrating their Amrit Mahotsav year.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will attend the event as the chief guest. Organisers expect participation from thousands of yoga enthusiasts, including members from the Mandal’s 107 branches, representatives of the Brahma Kumaris, NCC cadets, CRPF personnel, police training institutions and employees from various civic departments.
Preparations for the event are in full swing, with free yoga training sessions being conducted daily at the Mandal’s Ramnagar centre. Special yoga programmes are also being held at educational institutions and government offices across the city in the run-up to International Yoga Day.
To facilitate participation, transport arrangements have been made for attendees, according to Milind Wazalwar, Executive Officer of Janardanswami Yogabhyasi Mandal. The organisers have appealed to citizens to join the mass yoga session and contribute to promoting health, wellness and the practice of yoga in daily life.
