To facilitate smooth and hassle-free travel for students appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-2026 on June 21, the South East Central Railway (SECR) and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) have announced special transportation measures for candidates and their accompanying family members.
In view of the expected surge in passenger movement, SECR has introduced special train services and added extra coaches to several regular trains.
As part of the arrangements, Train No. 08823 Chhindwara–Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari MEMU Special Passenger will operate on June 21. The train will depart from Chhindwara at 6 pm and arrive at Itwari at 10.50 pm, halting at designated stations en route.
Railway authorities have also announced the operation of a Korba–Durg–Korba MEMU/Passenger Special service. Additionally, the Hasdeo Express has been temporarily extended up to Durg for the day to cater to increased passenger demand.
To further ease travel during the examination period, SECR has attached 40 additional general coaches to 10 trains operating across the region.
Among the key services, Train No. 18109 Tatanagar–Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari Express will run with two extra general coaches from June 19 to June 21. Similarly, Train No. 18110 Itwari–Tatanagar Express will be augmented with two additional general coaches from June 21 to June 23.
Officials said the measures have been taken to ensure that NEET aspirants can reach their examination centres without inconvenience and to accommodate the increased travel demand during the examination period.
