In a major breakthrough, the Unit-5 team of the Nagpur Crime Branch has busted a vehicle theft gang and arrested four accused, recovering stolen property worth Rs 9.66 lakh, including 10 stolen two-wheelers and valuables linked to a house burglary case.
Acting on specific intelligence, the Crime Branch laid a trap in the Tehsil area and detained the suspects for questioning. During interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing motorcycles from various parts of Nagpur city. The arrested accused have been identified as Shahanawaz Shah alias Gulzar Shah (19) and Faizan Khan (25), along with two juveniles in conflict with law.
Police investigations led to the detection of 10 vehicle theft cases registered at Yashodhara Nagar, Dhantoli, Sitabuldi, Kapil Nagar and Koradi police stations. The team also recovered property connected to a house-breaking case registered under the jurisdiction of Tehsil Police Station.
The seized property includes 10 stolen motorcycles valued at Rs 8.30 lakh and burglary-related valuables worth Rs 1.36 lakh, taking the total recovery to Rs 9.66 lakh.
