THE last date for submitting applications for the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for the First Year Diploma Engineering (Polytechnic) courses in Maharashtra has been extended from June 22, 2026, to July 2, 2026, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil announced.
According to the minister, the deadline has been extended in view of the overwhelming response from students and delays in obtaining the necessary cer-tificates and documents required for the admission process.
As of the original deadline, 1,45,708 candidates had registered for the admission process. Ofthese, 1,15,053 students had completed the fee payment and sub-mitted their applications for verification. The minister said the extension will provide stu-dents with additional time to obtain the required doc-uments and enable more eligible candidates to par-ticipate in the admission process.
Students are advised not to wait until the last moment and to complete their applications before the revised deadline of July 2, 2026.
For the detailed admission schedule, application guidelines, and online registration, students can visit the official website of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE): dte.maharashtra.gov.in.
