Rashmi Hemant Bhave has been unanimously elected as the President of Matru Sewa Sangh, Sitabuldi, one of Nagpur’s oldest social service institutions dedicated to the welfare of women and children.
The position fell vacant following the resignation of former president Dr. Aruna Babhulkar, who stepped down due to health reasons. A meeting of the institution’s office-bearers was subsequently convened, during which Bhave was unanimously chosen to lead the organisation.
Founded over 105 years ago, Matru Sewa Sangh has played a pioneering role in providing healthcare and welfare services to women and children. The institution was established in the pre-Independence era by late Kamalatai Hospet and Venutai Nene with the aim of supporting pregnant women, improving child welfare and ensuring access to affordable healthcare through a spirit of social service.
Over the decades, the organisation has expanded its activities and earned recognition for its contribution to maternal and child healthcare, education and community welfare.
With Bhave assuming charge as president, the institution is expected to continue its longstanding commitment to serving women, children and underprivileged sections of society.
