The Nagpur Unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a Zonal Officer of the Nagpur Home Guards while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹30,000 from a Home Guard volunteer.
According to the ACB, the complainant has been serving as a Home Guard volunteer for the past 20 years. After being removed from duty due to low parade attendance, he was re-inducted into the Home Guards in 2024 after completing the prescribed training. Subsequently, Zonal Officer Pradeep Vijay Nagpure (Zone No. 5, Nagpur Home Guards) allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹20,000 for assigning the complainant regular duty.
Following a complaint, the ACB verified the allegations on July 28 and 29, 2026, and confirmed the demand. During a trap laid on July 29, the accused allegedly accepted the bribe amount of ₹20,000 and was caught red-handed by the ACB team.
A case is being registered at Lakadganj Police Station, Nagpur City, under the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is underway.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Dr. Digambar Pradhan, Superintendent of Police, ACB Nagpur, along with senior officers and the trap team.
