Residents in several localities along Umred Road will experience a planned five-hour power outage on Monday and Tuesday as the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) carries out urgent maintenance work ahead of the 104th annual Urs of Hazrat Baba Tajuddin.
The utility has scheduled precautionary maintenance on the 11 kV Tajbagh feeder to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply at the Urs venue. According to MSEDCL, the shutdown will be in effect from 6 am to 11 am on June 29 and June 30.
Areas affected by the outage include Pili School, Sindhiban, Nirala Society, Thakur Plot, Tajbag, Azad Colony, Shahjahan Chowk, Toheed Nagar, New Bidipeth and Ashirwad Nagar.
The maintenance work involves repairs to the AB switch and line jumpers on the 11 kV feeder, as well as trimming tree branches that could pose safety risks or disrupt supply. Officials said the work is necessary to strengthen the distribution network ahead of the expected influx of thousands of devotees for the annual congregation.
