In view of the growing rush of passengers, Central Railway has extended the operation of the Patna–Cherlapally special train till July 31. Running via the Nagpur–Ballarshah route, the extension is expected to bring relief to passengers travelling towards north and south India and ease the scramble for confirmed reservations.
The special train was earlier scheduled to run till July 17. Considering the sustained demand, four additional trips have now been added to its schedule. As per the extended timetable, train number 03253 Patna–Cherlapally special will make four trips from Patna between July 20 and 29, every Monday and Wednesday. Train number 03254 Cherlapally–Patna special will run on July 22 and 29, making two trips on Wednesdays, while train number 03255 Cherlapally–Patna special will operate on July 24 and 31, with two Friday trips.
The train has commercial halts at Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg and Gondia on South East Central Railway, allowing passengers from the Nagpur and Ballarshah region convenient access.Railway officials said the service will be particularly useful for Vidarbha passengers travelling to north India or Telangana. The train has 22 coaches, including one power car, one SLRD, two general, four sleeper, seven AC-3 and seven AC-3 economy coaches.
