CII organises an interactive session and member’s meet with Sriram Narayanan

CII Vidarbha Zone has recently organized the Interaction & Members’ Meet with Vice Chairman, CII Maharashtra State Council and Managing Director, Endress+Hauser (India) Automation Instrumentation Pvt. Ltd, Sriram Narayanan.

Chairman – CII Vidarbha Zonal Council & Director, Midland Diesel Services Pvt. Ltd., Rahul Dixit, welcomed the members and briefed on the initiatives and activities executed by CII Vidarbha Zone in last year which were really beneficial to the industries, during the presentation Mr. Dixit mentioned some key initiatives like Buyer-Seller Meet, IndNX 4.0: Conference on IoT and Project Competition, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, MICON: HR Conference to name a few.

Mr. Narayanan briefed about CII Broad Services portfolio which comprises of the four pillars, Policy Advocacy, International and Business Development Services, Competitive Solutions, Nurturing Competitiveness and Connecting with Society.

Mr. Narayanan debriefed on CII National, Regional and State Theme for the year 2019-2020 : “Competitiveness of India Inc. India @75 : Forging Ahead” which is centered around Employment Generation, Governance, Environmental Sustainability, Energy Security, Rural-Urban Connect and also suggested to plan zonal initiatives to support the national agenda of CII. He also briefed on the various suggested Panels for the state like Rural Urban Connect (Agriculture & Food Processing), Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Membership Connect, MSMEs, Finance and Taxation, Policy Advocacy and EODB, Skill Development & Affirmative Action, Society Connect, Innovation and Manufacturing, Forums and Taskforces like Automobile & Auto Components, Shipping and Logistics, HR, Employability and Textiles.

He also emphasized on the various initiatives and activities planned for the year comprising of Buyer-Seller Meets, Inward and Outward Missions, Government Interaction, Ease of doing business, Connect with Society through CSR, Water and Waste Management and other social initiatives and also Leveraging CII services by optimum utilization of My CII services, CII – Centre of Excellences, International Networks.

Head, CII Maharashtra State, Jibak Dasgupta, briefed on the CII Services at large and also on mycii.in, the online platform for members and how it is useful & convenient for members to access the relevant information & knowledge source.

Vice Chairman – CII Vidarbha Zonal Council & Director, Lemken India Agro Equipment Pvt Ltd., Vijay Rawal proposed the vote of thanks and also requested the members to take out the maximum benefits from CII services.

During the interaction, Members from Vidarbha region shared their inputs & suggestions which should be taken up by CII & also shared various problem areas where CII should intervene & take it up with the concerned authorities like Water cut to industry in spite of adequate storage available, Coal prices are increasing with increase in mining cost and impacts variable cost of Electricity generation, Issue of Stamp Duty on Transfer of properties in MIDC area needs to be taken up with state government authorities.

GST issues on the subsidy where the SOPs need to be made clear, Industry members also suggested some points like Government Compliance List – For companies especially SME’s a  Compliance guidance a step by step procedure which will help in understanding various permissions/ approvals needed which will also lead to  Ease of doing business.

Transparency on CII Policy notification needs to be visible to members, Creating a Skill Development Centre Identical to that of Chindwara at Butibori MIDC, Nagpur, Support to MSME’s from Large Industries to boost manufacturing in the region, CII should include association office bearers on various CII panels & committees especially policy decisions at both state and national level and also during interaction with bureaucrats and Ministers  CII should hold programs / meetings specially with all industries associations.

Members also suggested to have regular interactions with State Office Bearers with every zone to get the support required and get connected.
