The magic of melodious songs was recreated by the talented singers of Sonorus group at a maiden event at Madhuram Hall, Mor Hindi Bhavan Sitabuldi Nagpur recently.
The singers of all age group showed their versatility in presenting Hindi, English, Marathi and Bengali songs which made it more interesting.
The event was inaugurated by Principal of a renowned Engineering college, Nagpur Dr.Sanjay Uttarwar, was chief guest for the concert. Dr Uttarwar is a music lover and has performed with all leading groups of Nagpur. He runs a cultural group ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ through which he guides upcoming singers of Nagpur. He is recipient of five National and International awards for his outstanding contribution to the field of academics and research.
While speaking to a local journalist Dr.Uttarwar said that this event was organised to give a platform to aspiring, amateur and blooming singers of our city. He further added “there is so much talent in Nagpurians, but not all get the opportunity to showcase their talents. We want to lend a platform for such aspiring singers, especially the youth, who dream big but do not have the route to reach there.”
The program started with Bengali song which set the tone for evening, which was followed by the series of all time hit songs which was presented by various singers.
Jara sa zum lu mai, Mere Dholna and other duets presented by Rupali Roy and her co singers raised the excitement of audience. Music enthusiasts enjoyed the show with zeal.
The accompanying artists on instruments were Ajit Bhalerao, Mahendra Watulkar, Sudhir Amnik and Gaurav Rangari.
The event was conceptualized and organized by Mr. and Mrs. Roy whereas, Anil Bhojwani was the anchor.
