Vets on how to safeguard an animal

Animals in the city are seen to be going through one of their rough period in a lifetime. The scorching heat is turning worst day by day and animals without a roof or even in wild have no resistance or alternative against the situation.

In recent days birds are seen to be directly dropping off from being fainted or of being dehydrated, as they already have lost many trees during the recent construction in the city, which would have helped them to rest or provide a shade to stay in. Same is the situation with the stray dogs that have no shelter but just an escape under a car which is again not available all the time or is already hot.

The Live Nagpur interviewed the Head TVCC (Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex) Dr. S.K. Sahatpure to know the exact situation of animals during the summer time and how to treat or provide them with better facilities.

Dr. Sahatpure suggested that the birds and animals are in a very stressful atmosphere as there have been many cases in which the animal is brought in an unconsciousness state or in a much critical condition.  We always suggest the citizens to keep a bowl of water on a compound wall for birds or to avail a facility of bucketful of water for the stray animals in a particular area seeking for water, said Sahatpure.

Sahatpure explained on how the dogs use open contaminated water sewage while searching for a cold place to rest, which ultimately lands them in an ill way of living and getting caught by a disease in no time at all.

Due to the strong heatwaves, the temperature regulatory system is disturbed which is the main reason why the birds and other animals including humans feel dizzy or gets fainted as soon as they are exposed to heat or the sunlight, the most suitable atmosphere for a living being is below 40 degree which is said to be the most tolerant state of temperature.
