CPS, AB’s chess camps put up a praise worthy performance

The Chess enthusiasts of Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass brought laurels to the school by giving a tough time to their competitors in the 11th St. Vincent Palloti Nagpur District Inter-School Team and Junior Chess Championship. Ninety-three teams all from different schools participated in this event which was organised by St. Vincent Palloti School from July 17 to 19th , 2019. The Super Six teams of CPS, AB left no stone unturned to clinch victory.

The High School Girls team comprising Aishita Chhabda, Himani Jethwani, Yashika Chandankhede and Krishna Taori claimed the first position by scoring 18 points. The Primary Boys Team A consisting of Sanskar Gaigore, Arush Chitre, Shourya Divecha and Arav Bhartia bagged the first position by scoring 22 points.

The Primary Girls Team comprising Divyanshi Chandankhade, Swara Gaigore, Anushka Kapse and Sukhsha Vashudev stood first by scoring 16.5 points. The High School Boys team consisting of Shlok Channawar, Shubham Sanghvi, Vedant Bajaj and Akshat Paliwal bagged the 2nd position by scoring 18.5 points.

The Primary Boys Team B comprising of Siddarth Nair, Yuval Mohurle, Sai Tarekar and Sreeram Bajaj secured the third position by scoring 16.5 points. The individual scores of the Chess champs which lead them on the path of victory are as below:-

  1. Shlok Channawar won the 1st Board Prize by scoring 5.5pts out of 6 Rounds
  2. Shoan Raj was the recipient of the 3rd Board Prize with a score of 6 pts out of 6 Rounds
  3. Himani Jethwani received the 2nd Board Prize with 5 pts out of 5 Rounds on the scoreboard
  4. Krishna Taori scored 5 pts out of 5 Rounds to win the 4th board prize
  5. Arush Chitre bagged the 2nd Board Prize by scoring 6 pts out of 6 Rounds
  6. Arav Bhartia got the 3rd Board Prize and scored 6 pts out of 6 Rounds
  7. Shourya Divecha became the recipient of the 4th Board Prize with 5 pts out of 6 Rounds on the scoreboard
  8. Suksha Vashudev secured the 4th Board Prize by scoring 5 pts out of 5 Rounds

The proud achievers performed extremely well and were rewarded with a trophy, medals and  ndividual mementoes at the venue. They were also applauded by the Principal, Radhika Mehra, Vice-Principals, Perveen Cassad and Mrs. Anita Sharma, the staff and their mentor Kiran Pathak.
