India Won the Toss and Opts to Bat First India vs South Africa | Nagpur Sports News

India won the toss and elected to bat first in the second Test of the three-match series against South Africa on Thursday here at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

India made one change in their team as they brought in Umesh Yadav in place of HanumaVihari. On the other hand, South Africa brought in Anrich Nortje in place of Dane Piedt.

India batted well in the session after the loss of Rohit Sharma early. Rohit and Agrawal have struck 52 together. South Africa bowled well in patches. India ends session at 77/1.

India’s playing XI: Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane (Vc), Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav.

South Africa’s playing XI: Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Theunis de Bruyn, Temba Bavuma, Faf du Plessis(c), Quinton de Kock(w), Senuran Muthusamy, Vernon Philander, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje.

In the first Test against South Africa, Rohit Sharma was exceptional as he scored 176 runs in the first innings and then he went on to score 126 in the second innings. He became only the second Indian opener to score centuries in both innings of a Test match.
