No Change in degree given by varsity during lockdown- Uday Samant

Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister, Uday Samant who is on a two day visit to the various universities of Vidarbha met various party people in Nagpur.

Samant was on a visit in Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University where he met Vice Chancellor and discussed on various issues. During his visit various party members and groups met him and submitted their requests and suggestions.

Aam Aadmi Party Students Union CYSS Nagpur submitted their suggestions to the minister demanding students should not be asked for a migrant certificate during admission process from any students irrespective of their boards.

CYSS also demanded that except for science stream students who passed Std 12th be eligible to take admission for all courses.

RTMNU must clarify that eligibility and migrant certificate are only required for the change of university purpose only and not for seeking admission in 1st year.
Varsity must take immediate action against those who are demanding migration certificate for seeking admission in the session 2020-21.

Admission must be permitted for both Degree and PG courses on the basis of Marathi language as well.

Apart from this Shiv Sena Deputy Chief Deepak Pohnekar handed a memorandum to Higher and Technical Education Minister demanding to restart the government schools in Nagpur as students are not able to avail education due to the lockdown.

Samant made it clear that there would be no difference in the degrees that are being given to the students in the times of COVID 19 which means that there would be no separate pandemic degree certificates issued to the students by the Universities after the final year exams.
Samant said that “Maharashtra Government will take action against the private companies or industries if they look down on the degrees conferred during the pandemic period.”
