New Marathi paper ‘Darpan’ launchedOn the occasion of Press day, a new Marathi paper ‘Darpan’ was launched today at the press room of Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
The newly elected mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, Standing Committee Chairman Vijay (Pintu) Jhalke, ruling party leader Sandeep Jadhav, Pratod. Divya Dhurde greeted the father of Marathi journalism, the first journalist Darpanakar Balshastri Jambhekar by offering flowers on his frame.
Wishing all the journalists on this day, Dayashankar Tiwari said that Darpankar Balshastri Jambhekar boldly took out the Marathi newspaper “Darpan” which played a big role in awakening awakened people to agitate for independence against the British.
Balshastri, also known as ‘Bhishma Pitamah’ of Marathi journalism. He is a grest example for today’s generation. His position in Marathi Journalism is just same as Ganesh Shankar in Hindi journalism.
On the occassion of the newspaper launch l, Rajesh Charpe, Ganesh Hood, Ravi Gajbhiye, Lalendra Karwade, Mahendra Bhusari, Siddharth Ramteke, Sameer Pathan, Rajiv Singh, Sagar Mohod, Amit Vandhare, Dr. Mamta Khandekar, Neeraj Dubey, Public Relations Officer Manish Soni and Assistant Public Relations Officer were present. Pradip Khardenvis was also present.
