Central Railway: Trains to run at 130 kmph in next five months

The Central Railway general manager Sanjeev Mittal said that trial is on to run train at the speed of 130 Km/hr in Nagpur-Itarsi section. The similar trial will be carried out in Nagpur-Wardha and Nagpur-Ballarshah sections. The trial is being done on behalf of RDSO. And RDSO will submit it report. He also said that if some improvement is suggested in the report then the concerned work will be completed. Later application will be given to Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) for holding the trial from Itarsi to Ballarshah. If everything completes within the time frame then in the next five months; the train will run at the speed of 130 Km/hr on Itarsi Ballarshah route. He was arrived in Nagpur for annual inspection of Nagpur division.

He also stated that many works will be done to increase the passenger facilities in Nagpur station in 2021-22.Similarly,after getting the necessary directives from Railway Board, the mechanized laundry work in Ajni will start. He pointed out that during the Covid period; the speed of goods trains in the Central Railway was extended to 42 km/hr from 24 km/hr. During this period, 236 parcel trains and 600 Shramik Special trains have been run. Doubling of the 68 km railway line and electrification of 275 km rail line were done. About 1.14 lakh tonnes of medicine and other essential commodities have been transported.
