Atharva Taide slams unbeaten 148 to steer MRCC to 3-wicket win over Eleven Star in VCA Guzder League Cricket

Overcoming the disappointment of recently held Syed Mushtaq Ali Twenty20 Trophy in Indore, Atharva Taide slammed an unbeaten 148 runs to spark Medical Representative Cricket Club win in the VCA Guzder League ‘A’ Division Cricket tournament here on Tuesday.

In the high-scoring league outing against Eleven Star Cricket Club, MRCC clinched a narrow three-wicket victory in the last over.

Chasing a mammoth Eleven Star’s score of 321 for 6, MRCC chased down the target with just five balls to spare after a mid-innings struggle.

Dashing southpaw Atharva Taide led the run-chase in a positive manner and stayed there till the end. Taide’s 148 not out came off 132 balls. The left-handed batsman cracked 12 boundaries and three sixes to single-handedly guide MRCC to win.

Earlier, Eleven Star opted to bat and amass 321 for 6 thanks mainly to Shubham Dubey (95: 52b, 4×4, 8×6) and Akash Kumar (83: 87b, 9×4, 1×6). Aditya Thakare bowled well to claim 2 for 54.

In an exciting encounter played at the VCA Kalamna ground between Ministerial Services Sports Club and Indian Gymkhana, the match ended in a tie.

Put in to bat, Indian Gymkhana were bundled out for 186 in 49.1 overs. However, Indian Gymkhana bowlers did well and restricted MSSC to 186 for 9 in 50 overs.
