Everyone has a dream of becoming an inspector or joining the police force and serving the nation. However, not everyone can get into this job. One needs to know the requirements of becoming a sub-inspector. Even if you are joining the CBI, you need to begin your journey with the sub-inspector One of the ideal ways to enter into this job is by passing out the entrance
exam. The SSC CGL is one such exam to undergo. However, you need to prepare well for this exam. One way to pass this exam is to get the SSC CGL answer key from an online website. It will help you to prepare for the exam and get the desired marks.

This entrance exam does not just test your knowledge but also your physical ability. There is a physical standard test undertaken by the selection committee to see if you meet up with the required standards. Once you pass through the entire test, you will be proud to join to the most reputed institution called CBI.

Job Profile of the Sub-Inspector in CBI
The job of a sub-inspector in CBI is quite difficult depending on the post given.

If posted for the Desk Work
If you are posted in the desk job as sub-inspector, then you will need to handle paperwork and case files falling under the CBI. This will be basically a clerical job offered. It will have a fixed working hour.

If posted for Field Work
This is the most demand profile where you will be responsible to work with the team during the raid. There will be no fixed working hours. You may either raid the area in the early morning which can go till late hours.

Career scope of the sub-inspector of police:

There is a good scope of the sub-inspector of CBI. Starting from the low rank, the individual will reach to the top position having more responsibilities. The demand for this job in India is high due to the increasing crime rate. Moreover, it is a great way to serve the country. Once you join as the sub-inspector, you will be given a number of job roles. As the year passes, you will be raised to higher positions:

· Sub-Inspector
· Inspector
· Deputy Superintendent
· Additional Superintendent

· Superintendent
· Senior Superintendent

Salary of a sub-inspector in CBI

The salary of the sub-inspector is not that high compared to higher-post inspectors. However, along with the regular salary, the sub-inspector will get other benefits in terms of incentives. The basic payout of the sub-inspector is Rs 61,000 to Rs 63,000 which includes basic pay, HRA, TA
and DA.

Selection Process
As mentioned above, the selection process depends on the examination score and the physical ability. Candidates need to undergo the SSC CGL exam, which is undertaken by the government every year. Once the SSC CGL cut-off is released, there will be an interview session and physical examination.

The written exam consists of 2 papers, 100 marks each. The interview round will consist of 20 marks where the candidate will be tested on the basis of response, aptitude, general level of intelligence, personal bearing.

Advantages and Disadvantages:
There are both advantages and disadvantages of working as CBI Sub Inspector:
Advantage:
· Great respect to work with the top institution
· You will get to learn many new things
· You will be getting highest salary and other financial grants
Disadvantages:
· No 9-5 job, especially working on field job
· It can be stressful and pressure, especially if handling case of an influential person
· There will be a lot of traveling involved.
Conclusion
Overall, the job of the sub-inspector in CBI is just like every other inspector. The only thing is you need to be ready to work in odd-hours, less pay, stress and accept other things. However, you will be proud that you are serving the nation. There are benefits in terms of extra payout.
