Actress Parineeti Chopra, who will be soon seen in badminton ace Saina Nehwal’s biopic “Saina”, said “It’s a huge responsibility to essay someone like Saina Nehwal on screen. She’s a legend and I was…scared about how people will react. With the response the we have received so far I’m overwhelmed with the love we are getting,” she added.
Directed by Amole Gupte and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Sujay Jairaj and Rashesh Shah under the banner of T-Series and Front Foot Pictures. The movie is all set to hit theatres on March 26. Speaking about the film, Parineeti said “the film is a celebration of the unending spirit that lies in each woman.”
Director Gupta can’t stop praising his lead star: “Saina has inspired millions of women out there and is a true example of a strong female icon in the country today and Parineeti has put a lot of effort to represent Saina authentically.”
Talking about the film and Parineeti playing portraying, Saina said: “Everything is quite surreal. What I have achieved in life is all due to the constant support of my family. It has been my huge honour to play a sport I love and put my country on a pedestal while achieving my dream. Parineeti is a fabulous actor and we both connected so easily when we met. I wish the team all the best for the film and hope everyone leaves the theatre with dreams.”
On work front, Prineeti was recently seen in ‘Girl in a Train’. Soon she be sharing screens with Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in ‘Animal’ which is slated to release in Dusshera next year. Apart from this the actress will be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in ‘Sandeep aur Pinky Farar.
