RTMNU appoints three regular deans

Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University finally has got regular Deans of faculties of Science and Technology, Humanities and Commerce and Management.

For the long period, the posts were held by temporary candidates. In fact, after passing of new Maharashtra Public Universities Act 1916, regular deans have been appointed for the first time. Vice-Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhari informed The Live Nagpur that Dr Prashant Maheshwari has been selected Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology.

Dr Sanjay Kavishwar, was the only applicant for the post of Dean in the Faculty of Commerce and Management and was naturally selected for the post. He himself was holding the post as Officiating Dean, before getting selected against regular post.

Dr Dattatray Watmore has been appointed  Dean, Faculty of Humanities, the post which was held by Dr Nirmal Kumar.

Dr Maheshwari was a teacher with JD College of Engineering. He replaced Officiating Dean Dr Rajesh Singru. Dr Kavishwar was principal of Tirpude College of Management, while Dr Watmore comes from Sharadchandra Pawar College of Arts and Commerce, Butibori.

Dr Chaudhari informed that the Committee for selection of Dean of Inter-disciplinary Faculty could not be formed for various reasons. The position, still, is held by Officiating Dean Dr Rajashri Vaishnav.

The University had published advertisements for the posts of Deans, Registrar, and Director of Knowledge Centre (Library).  Dr Raju Hiwase has been appointed as Registrar earlier.
